Is SwissGuarantor a bank or an insurance company?
No. SwissGuarantor is an independent private Swiss service that assesses rental applications and may, after individual approval, issue a private guarantee. We are neither a bank nor an insurer, and we say so on every page.
Is acceptance guaranteed if I pay the application fee?
No — never, for anyone. The fee pays for the professional assessment of your file, including a written conclusion. Anyone selling "guaranteed acceptance" in this field deserves your deepest suspicion.
What exactly does the application fee cover?
A complete human review of your income, savings, stability and documents, and a written conclusion: approval with a guarantee quote, a decline with reasons, or a precise list of what would change the outcome.
If approved, what does the guarantee cost?
The guarantee fee is quoted individually, in writing, based on the guaranteed amount and duration — before any commitment. You remain free to decline the quote at no further cost.
Does a SwissGuarantor guarantee get me the apartment?
No. It strengthens your file by adding an independent financial assessment, but landlords and agencies choose their tenants freely.
Can landlords and agencies verify my guarantee?
Verification tooling for agencies (certificate ID checks) is planned as our next milestone; today, agencies can verify directly with us by e-mail, which also lets them confirm validity and maximum amounts without seeing your private finances.
I was refused — is the fee refunded?
The fee compensates the assessment work, which is performed in full whatever the outcome — so no, but you receive a written explanation of the refusal and what would need to change. See our refund policy for cancellation before work starts.
How is my financial data protected?
Documents travel through encrypted channels, are accessed only by the reviewer working on your file, and are never shared with landlords, agencies or third parties beyond what you explicitly request. Swiss data-protection law (FADP) applies.
SwissGuarantor is an independent private service. The issuance of a guarantee is never automatic: every file is assessed individually and the final decision always rests with our team. SwissGuarantor is neither a bank nor an insurance company, and a guarantee does not entitle anyone to a lease — landlords decide freely.
